As a breeder, I feel it’s so important to be well versed in the history of the breed. Before I ever bred my first litter, I borrowed maybe 100 issues of the Pomeranian Review, Pomeranian Registry, and Pom Reader from my mentor, Judy Green. Every night I read one of these issues, front to back, taking in all the photos, pedigrees, and articles! There was so much knowledge there, especially watching the evolution of different breeders and bloodlines over the decades. Her collection started in the 1980s and I subscribed to the Pomeranian Review myself in the early 2000s, and have kept every issue.

I feel like these old breed magazines are an invaluable resource to any aspiring Pomeranian breeder! For that reason, I was very excited to tackle a project for the parent club, the American Pomeranian Club, of which I am a member. As a member of both the Tech/Website committee and the Breeder Education committee, I volunteered my skills as a software engineer to make many of these priceless old magazines available via the web, FOR FREE!

A special shout out to Annie Coughlin, Charm City Poms, who also volunteered countless hours prepping and scanning these magazines in order to create the PDF files that my website displays! Not to mention to the many editors of these magazines over the years. The Pomeranian Review is still the official APC club magazine, maintained by the editor Deborah Snow (Couture Poms). You can subscribe today to get all the latest APC news!
